Yale University Women's Organization
Yale University Women’s Organization (YUWO) is committed to supporting women associated with the Yale community in their pursuit of academic and professional advancement. It offers one-year scholarships for women whose formal education has been delayed or interrupted and who wish to resume their academic studies or enhance their careers.
Those eligible for the scholarships include women associated with the Yale community through their current or past employment or that of an immediate family member, Yale alumnae, or current Yale students. An immediate family member is defined as a spouse, parent, child, or sibling. Applicants must demonstrate both academic merit and financial need, and their education must have been previously delayed or interrupted.
Past scholarship recipients have pursued studies in areas ranging from nursing and public health to business administration, engineering, library science, social work, and more. Awards may be used at any accredited programs in the United States, including two- and four-year colleges, universities, and accredited online programs that offer associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Awards are exclusively for tuition and are paid directly to the institution. The number and amount of awards vary per year, with recent awards ranging from $2,500 to $10,500.
