Ruth M. and Dr. Dennis W. Dawson Endowed Scholarship

Fall 2026 and Spring 2027

This scholarship was originally created in 2006 by Professor Dennis Dawson in memory of his mother, Ruth M. Dawson. Dr. Dawson’s name has been added by his wife to also honor his 37-years of teaching astronomy at WCSU. For this scholarship, students must be undergraduate full-time students and have a 3.5 GPA. The recipient must also be entering their junior or senior year and have exceptional talent in creative science writing or science journalism. Scholarship amount is typically $1,000.
