Dr. John M. Tufts Memorial Scholarship

Fall 2025 and Spring 2026

This scholarship was created with a donation from Dr. Alice L.Carolan in honor of her late husband, who taught the first Black Literature courses at Western Connecticut State University in the 1970’s. Dr. Tufts loved working with students who regarded a WCSU degree as a great accomplishment toward a productive life. Preferences for selections are English, Communication or Education majors, and demonstrated financial need.
